Having read "The Movement of the World", I think Paragons are here to stay.

I think Arenanet will add Blackguard or even Undead Paragon as a profession...

Why would anet even consider removing ONE proffesion ??

The amount of flaming they would get would be swg-size I bet.
Mabye even more.

Anyway: I would blame ignorance;
alot of people don't get what a paragon is supposed to do (nor what a mesmer is supposed to or how to play an assassin etc.).

I can only remember being kicked out of a group once because I was a paragon (but not allowed into one for a zillion times); up to this day I still hate monks...

It happens occasionally and is extremly annoying but keep in mind: if people don't want you in a group because according to them proffesion XY sucks and they don't even want to lissen to your arguments and look at your build... then you can be near 100% sure they won't make it to the end of the mission/etc.

The only thing I can suggest is to keep trying.

PS: Try to remember what the name is of the person that wanted you kicked/ didn't allow you into the group.

High chance that 10 min after they entered the mission, they are back shouting something near: GLF people No noobs. (always puts a smile on my face ^.^)

Speaking as someone with a Scottish heritage-that's for the win-brought a smile to my face.

The only time I was ever not accepted in a group was for a FoW HM run. The group wanted a Para for support, but wanted me to run two very very very sub par builds (it was like crappy attack1, crappy attack2, then a bunch of energy stuff and like little Leadership)-seriously a monkey could've done a better build.

So when I tried to correct them saying that SY/TNtF is prolly your best choice, the guy got all huffy. Sure enough, not more than 40 minutes later, they were looking for something else to do. I thought about being a jerk and asking them how it went, but I took the high road and giggled silently to myself

I actually did that before...

I tried to join a pug for the hell of it for Ice Caves of Sorrow. Some Mesmer said "Kick the assassin they suck". I am kicked about 2 seconds after that.

So I think whatever, grab hench and start the mission. When I am getting on the boat at the end, I whisper people from that group that kicked me, and they had failed the mission. LOL

I think its because the idea is of someone in the middle of the battlefield with crossfire saying "SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!"

Now stop for a moment.Imagine your in the army.Your in the middle of the battle field saying:"SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!""SAVE YOURSELFS!"

Looks stupid :P
But I love my paragon ^_^

Stupid people hate Paragons because they think they suck due to all the nerfs.

Smart people hate Paragons because if the Imbalance they brought to the game.

People are dumb and think like this most of the time
-Paragons can't do big aoe damage
-Paragons don't tank, we want our obby tank
-Paragons can't use healing breeze on me

For those reasons, paragons aren't usually accepted into groups. People don't realize that they are actually "godmode"

Lulz healing breeze sucks.
And who needs healing breeze when you have OVER 60% THOUSAAAAAAAND damage reduction? And that is WITHOUT the +100 armor of save yourselfs!

Even without the PVE skills Paragons are extremely strong in PVE, they still have an extremely good DPS and excellent party support - You wouldn't go far wrong if you ran a gvg style Motigon or something, obviously with PVE skills you can do even better if you yourself are the Paragon.

They don't really fit into the typical Pug tank-nuke-heal build, I don't think you should really be that surprised for not getting accepted into them, they work around 1 guy who absorbs all the damage anyway while the others aoe nuke - really what good is a Paragon to that type of build. Quite frankly though I can't imagine why you would even want to be involved in that type of pug if you're on a Paragon, it's such a bad build which even still people are convinced is the easiest / sometimes only way of doing something. See this often in threads where people talk about wanting Ursan because without it you'd HAVE to run tank and spank or fail in areas like DoA.. ergh be less bad ^^.

Paragons isn't the same tale as mesmers really as far as pugs go - because Paragons are a lot better in PVE than mesmers are, they are better than pretty much everything really - their ability to do very high DPS and provide excellent party support is unmatched and their weakness of requiring lots of party members to get the most out of leadership won't even come into effect in PVE because your party will always be with you.
I do think that most people are clueless about mesmers, though I don't for one second think that thinking mesmers are pretty meh in PVE makes you clueless. I think a lot of builds that people post saying are good mesmer bars for pve are really horrid. Totally different subject, my bad >_>.

Anyway yes, Paragons are strong, no doubt overpowered in the piss poor excuse of PVE balance that exists, if anyone tells you Paragons suck at pve, I'm pretty sure the last thing you want is to be in that group

Physicals are the way to go if you want high damage, support, survivability. You obviously want buff the party as good as you can (while being a dps-machine yourself) and the Paragon excels at that, offensively and defensively.

I'd enjoy that instead of getting annoyed over obsidiottanks and Nukahs.

People don't like paragons simply because they can do the same damage as a warrior, while supporting the entire team and improving their attacks aswell. They're an improved version of a warrior, and people just can't accept that their favourite bunny-basher with healing breeze has been replaced by something which is more useful and(in my opinion) looks better too.
